Abstract

The release of RIIM Knowledge-in-Action Case Series – Volume V represents a further progression in the academic journey of the Centre for Case Development (CCD) at Ramachandran International Institute of Management (RIIM), Pune, reaffirming its commitment to experiential, practice-oriented, and future-focused management education. Building on the scholarly rigor and pedagogical maturity of the previous volumes, this edition reflects the series’ ongoing response to the accelerating pace of change in the global business and institutional landscape. Volume V brings together a thoughtfully selected set of advanced and contemporary management cases and caselets that address emerging organizational challenges shaped by technological innovation, sustainability transitions, evolving workforce dynamics, and increasing stakeholder expectations. Each case is rooted in authentic organizational settings and is designed to engage learners in complex decision-making situations that require analytical depth, ethical sensitivity, strategic agility, and contextual awareness. The cases featured in this volume span a wide range of functional and cross-functional domains, including strategic management, leadership and governance, digital and data-driven decision-making, human capital development, operations and supply chain resilience, marketing and consumer behavior, finance, entrepreneurship, and responsible business practices. Through critical analysis and reflective inquiry, learners are encouraged to examine competing perspectives, evaluate trade-offs, and develop well-reasoned managerial responses to multifaceted challenges. Aligned with the philosophy of learning through experience, RIIM Knowledge-in-Action Case Series – Volume V is designed to support classroom pedagogy, executive education, experiential learning initiatives, and academic research. The volume also serves as a valuable resource for faculty members and scholars engaged in case-based teaching and research. Its overarching objective is to enable the translation of management concepts into informed action, thereby preparing learners to navigate organizational complexity with competence, responsibility, and integrity. We are confident that Volume V will continue to stimulate meaningful academic dialogue, foster critical and strategic thinking, and contribute to the development of ethical, adaptive, and future-ready leaders capable of creating sustainable value in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.
