Abstract

We prove an exact mathematical equivalence between the Non-Continuum Calculus (NCC) framework and the visible sector of $E_8$ Chern-Simons (CS) topological quantum field theory on $S^3$ at level $k = 48$. The minimal non-zero eigenvalue $\lambda_{\min}(L_{E_8}) = 48$ sets the natural CS level, giving $k + h^\vee = 48 + 30 = 78$ and placing the theory in the moderately quantum regime with $k / h^\vee = 1.6$. We demonstrate that the full $E_8$ CS partition function decomposes additively into a visible sector and a shadow sector: $$Z_{E_8}(t) = Z_{\text{visible}}(t) + Z_{\text{shadow}}(t)$$ verified to machine precision. This additive split follows from the orthogonality of the Rosetta projection operator $P_{\text{phys}}$ at angle $\theta_c = 75^\circ$, which isolates exactly 29 visible channels out of 239 non-zero eigenspace states of the $E_8$ Laplacian $L_{E_8}$. The visible fraction $29/239 = 12.13\%$ and shadow fraction $210/239 = 87.87\%$ (counting only non-zero eigenvalues; the full shadow sector including the vacuum mode has 211 channels total) provide a geometric derivation of cosmological dark matter/dark energy ratios without phenomenological input. Consequently, NCC is not an approximation of CS theory but its exact observable restriction. All Standard Model observables derived in Paper #17 are strictly equivalent to projected $E_8$ Wilson loops. The shadow sector accounts for the remainder of the quantum group structure, with kinetic mixing governed by $\varepsilon = 2/\pi$ as derived in Papers #1–#13. This paper closes the mathematical loop connecting the spectral E₈ framework (Papers #1–#13) to topological quantum field theory (Papers #14–#17), proving that NCC is E₈ Chern-Simons theory in the visible sector—not an analogy, but the same theory under different projections.
