Data for: Comprehensive study of neurophysiological effects of monoaminergic modulation on electrophysiological activity in retinal degeneration model
Abstract
Figure 4. Evoked potentials (EP) in visual pathway regions.A, B, C – EP in visual cortex (VC), superior colliculus (SC), and lateral geniculate body (LGB) under baseline and experimental dystrophy (ED) conditions.D, E – EP responses during raphe nuclei (nR) and locus coeruleus (LC) stimulation before and after ED. The results demonstrate that, under retinal dystrophy (ED) conditions, EP amplitudes are markedly reduced across all principal components of the visual analyzer (Figure 4, A–C). This attenuation is especially pronounced in subcortical regions, reflecting compromised synaptic processing of afferent inputs and diminished neuronal responsiveness within central visual pathways. Reductions in positive wave amplitudes likely correspond to decreased synaptic potentials and impaired neuronal depolarization, whereas declines in negative waves indicate a weakening of the hyperpolarization phase. Collectively, these observations further substantiate the functional deficits induced by retinal dystrophy within central visual system structures.
