The Lost Curriculum: The Civilizations They Never Taught You About
Abstract
This essay restores the histories that were intentionally removed from mainstream education. Drawing on genetic research, paleoanthropology, archaeology, psychology, and curriculum studies, it demonstrates that humanity originated in Africa and that African and Indigenous civilizations developed advanced systems of science, governance, engineering, mathematics, and philosophy long before colonization. The essay examines how historical erasure shaped identity through cultural trauma and narrative suppression, and argues that remembering these civilizations is an act of restoration and liberation. This work contributes to public scholarship, decolonial education, and the recovery of suppressed global histories.
