Abstract

This publication defines canonical authority and escalation terms used in behavioral AI governance, audit, and execution-time system design. The terms formalize how authority is assigned, transferred, constrained, paused, or overridden in human, organizational, and AI-mediated systems, with particular emphasis on escalation pathways, stop authority, decision boundaries, and accountability preservation under pressure. This work supplements Canonical Terms for Behavioral AI Governance (v1.0.0), extending the core glossary with execution-critical definitions required for auditability, longitudinal accountability, and governance enforcement at runtime. The definitions are: Non-anthropomorphic and execution-aware Designed for longitudinal analysis rather than snapshot evaluation Intended to be stable, citable, and resistant to semantic drift This publication is part of the Hollow House Institute (HHI) governance standards corpus and is derived from the Hollow House Standards Library, which serves as the authoritative, version-controlled source of governance terminology.
