The Role of Cloud Computing in Modern Businesses

Modern companies are using cloud-based technology to support their development initiatives. Cloudprovides businesses access to such computing resources as storage, services and server capabilities without requiringthem to rely on traditional physical infrastructures [2]. This paper will highlight the impact of cloud on modernbusinesses through an overview of the concepts related to cloud computing, an evaluation of prior researchregarding the same, an explanation of the methods used to conduct the study, and the overall impact of cloud onmodern businesses. This study specifically focuses on educating businesses on the key benefits of using cloud-basedsolutions to help support their development efforts (e.g., cost effectiveness, scale up and down, and support fordigital transformation), in addition to the challenges that businesses face when attempting to implement cloud (e.g.,security and privacy) [3].
