Abstract

This factsheet presents the reuse of treated municipal wastewater for agricultural irrigation as a climate-resilient water management solution within the GEORGIA project. By integrating on-farm storage, conveyance, and tertiary disinfection (e.g. ultraviolet treatment), the approach ensures safe irrigation water supply in line with EU Regulation 2020/741, reducing freshwater demand and strengthening drought resilience in water-scarce regions.
