THE ROLE OF INSULIN RESISTANCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION IN OBESITY
Abstract
Insulin resistance is a key pathogenetic mechanism linking obesity with the development of arterial hypertension. This condition is accompanied by impaired vascular tone, activation of the sympathetic nervous system, renal sodium retention, and endothelial dysfunction. These mechanisms create conditions for elevated blood pressure and an increased risk of cardiovascular complications. Understanding the role of insulin resistance in the development of hypertension is important for early diagnosis, prevention, and optimization of therapeutic approaches in patients with obesity.
