Abstract

This working paper introduces the Cognitive Copernicus framework, a theoretical model proposing that artificial intelligence systems can function as temporal translation technologies for neurodivergent cognition. Rather than treating neurodivergence as deficit, the paper argues that many institutional failures arise from mismatches between cognitive processing rhythms and administratively imposed chronological structures. Drawing on historical analysis, disability theory, philosophy of technology, and institutional sociology, the study examines how bureaucratic systems privilege linear temporal compliance while marginalising asynchronous or high density cognitive processing. The framework reframes AI not as cognitive replacement but as a mediation layer capable of translating between divergent temporal architectures. The paper represents an early research articulation preceding an expanded monograph currently under editorial consideration. Its purpose is theoretical clarification and scholarly discussion rather than definitive empirical closure.
