One Geometry: Resonance Theory as the First Unification Across Physics, Biology, and Cognition
Abstract
Description/Abstract: One Geometry Resonance Theory as the First Unification Across Physics, Biology, and CognitionFor a century, unification in physics has meant the merging of forces — showing that apparently different interactions are manifestations of a single underlying interaction. This program has achieved partial success: the electromagnetic and weak forces are unified in the electroweak theory, and the Standard Model describes three of four forces in a common framework. But the unification of gravity with quantum mechanics remains unachieved, and the entire program is confined to physics. Biology, thermodynamics, cognition, and fluid dynamics remain separate sciences with separate equations and separate explanatory frameworks. This paper presents Resonance Theory: the proposal that the fundamental equations governing physics, fluid dynamics, statistical mechanics, biology, and cognitive science share a common fractal geometric classification — and that this shared classification constitutes the first unification that crosses the boundaries between sciences. The theory does not reduce biology to physics or cognition to chemistry. It reveals that the mathematical architectures generating each science are instances of the same geometric structure operating on different substrates. The unification is not of forces. It is of geometry.
