Abstract

This is by far the most brutal thing that I've ever done, and it's absolutely hilarious. I've 0 sympathy as people were told, and they didn't listen. They ought to have listened to Kronecker. This is a reckoning like none other in all math history. We prove the Riemann Hypothesis using no real numbers, no complex numbers, no analytic continuation, and no contour integration. The entire argument takes place over ℚ. Yes. You're actually reading that. The proof constructs an explicit sequence of self-adjoint integer matrices whose spectral projectors encode the nontrivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function. Self-adjointness forces the projector eigenvalues to satisfy c2 = c, hence c ∈ {0, 1}. The arithmetic structure of the matrices forces this binary constraint to be incompatible with a zero off the critical line. The field ℚ is the only field used. The four operations are rank, nullity, trace, and the idempotent identity.
