Design and Analysis of a Modified Center-Tapped DC-DC SEPIC Converter
Abstract
This study presents the implementation of a DC-DC converter with a center-tapped, single-stage structure, emphasizing its contribution to high-power applications in renewable energy setups. In the contemporary power sector, achieving efficient energy conversion is vital to overcoming the challenges of suboptimal power conversion. The proposed design outperforms traditional SEPIC converters by delivering higher efficiency and greater output power with fewer components. The new circuit delivers a peak power capacity of 400W, approximately 17 times greater than the traditional 22.5W. Although both designs share an identical input voltage, and the proposed system's output voltage is nearly fourfold, reaching 206V. By arranging elements in a sequential configuration, switching losses are distributed among multiple components. The novel converter achieves an impressive efficiency of 99.20% with a rated output current of 1.92A. The efficacy of these approaches is validated through simulations and analytical findings.
