KDS-UTI Protocol Engine: Canonical JSON Hashing and Hash-Chain Verification (TypeScript)
Abstract
This release provides the KDS-UTI Protocol Engine, a standalone, framework-agnostic TypeScript library implementing a canonical time ledger and its astronomy-based projections. The engine combines (1) a strict type system with branded, axis-safe time primitives, (2) deterministic canonical JSON serialization with SHA-256 hashing for reproducible identifiers and hash-chained tamper-evident event logs, and (3) an offline solar computation layer based on Meeus-style solar time utilities (e.g., Julian Day and equation of time), used to derive solar anchors (sunrise/sunset where applicable) and to separate mean vs. apparent solar time in projection. It also includes a KDS-specific calendar mapping that uses a 13×28 + Year-Day structure (a known calendrical scheme) but is defined here as part of the KDS canonical model, alongside seasonal classification utilities and a strict separation between immutable canonical records and optional projection/display layers. In practice, the engine enables lightweight, blockchain-free integrity guarantees for distributed and offline-first systems, supporting deterministic replay, verification, audit trails, and provenance tracking across runtimes. The artifact is released as a versioned reference engine intended for long-term archival citation and reproducible validation.
