Abstract

The broad definition of women's empowerment is the ability for women to shift the balance of power from men to themselves. Several policies and organisations enable women to earn an independent living and meet part of their own expenses, so empowering them. Males continue to predominate in intra household decision-making in rural India. Women are viewed as subservient to their male family members and consigned to perform household chores and follow their decisions. There is still a significant portion of Indian women who experience discrimination and deprivation. To advance in all areas of development, the nation must mobilise the enormous power of women. The advancement and maturation of a country are contingent upon the social and economic standing of women. For India, there is no exemption. Poverty and illiteracy affect a sizable portion of the population in India. This study's evaluation, which compared the performance of the credit guarantee scheme's beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries, was carried out to determine the program's effectiveness. The social, political, and economic facets of women's empowerment are examined in the current article.
