Abstract

The mining industry demands high fossil fuel consumption, posing environmental challenges. This study evaluates partial diesel substitution (5.8-7.7%) with renewable hydrogen in Komatsu 930E-4 mining trucks using PV-electrolyzer systems. LCOH: 6.2 USD/kgH2 (competitive). COOBH: 10.29 USD/kgH2 (high vs diesel). Future scenarios show viability by 2030-2050 with tech advances. CO2 savings: 284 kg/12h operation.
