FEATURES OF OSSEOINTEGRATION IN PATIENTS WITH METABOLIC SYNDROME
Abstract
Metabolic syndrome (MS) adversely affects bone metabolism, which can impair osseointegration in dental implants. Chronic low-grade inflammation, insulin resistance, hormonal imbalances, and reduced osteoblast activity contribute to delayed bone healing and increase the risk of peri-implant complications. Understanding these mechanisms is essential for optimizing implant success, minimizing complications, and improving long-term functional and aesthetic outcomes in patients with MS.
