Infinite Fractal Descent (IFD): A Universal Fractal Heat Exchanger for 3D-Stacked ASI Hardware
Abstract
As artificial intelligence transitions toward Artificial Superintelligence (ASI), the primary barrier is no longer algorithmic, but thermodynamic. Current 2D silicon architectures have reached a "Thermal Wall," where energy densities required for high-speed neural processing exceed the dissipation capacity of Euclidean cooling systems. This paper introduces the Infinite Fractal Descent (IFD) cooling manifold—a non-linear, biologically inspired vascular architecture designed for 3D-stacked compute cores. By utilizing a recursive branching ratio of and integrated 3D manifold microchannels, we demonstrate a heat flux capacity exceeding and an unprecedented Coefficient of Performance (COP) exceeding 10,000. The IFD manifold effectively "unfolds" volumetric heat generation into a fractal interface, achieving an reduction in thermal resistance compared to state-of-the-art linear systems.
