Neurobehavioural Effects of Fear Conditioning: Linking Freezing Behaviour to Prefrontal EEG Patterns - Figure 2
Abstract
This behavioural profile is consistent with previous studies showing that exposure to aversive stimuli robustly enhances anxiety-like behaviour through activation of limbic–prefrontal networks (Borkar & Fadok, 2021; Zinebi et al., 2002). In contrast, the control group showed no significant differences between pre- and post-testing (EPM1 M = 10.5, SD = 6.25; EPM2 M = 11.14, SD = 2.17; p = 0.81, 95% CI [–8.80, 7.32]) (see Figure 2).
