Abstract

Similarly, analysis of left versus right prefrontal hemispheres in the post-stimulation condition revealed no significant differences, with p-values ranging from 0.36 to 0.90 for delta, theta, alpha, beta, and gamma bands (Figure 4). This absence of lateralised activity suggests a bilateral engagement of the prefrontal cortex under aversive conditions, consistent with previous evidence indicating symmetrical prefrontal involvement in stress-related processing (Widman et al., 2019).
