Abstract
RACING (R-based Attractor Complexity INdex for Gait) is an open-source R pipeline that ports validated MATLAB algorithms for nonlinear gait analysis — including the Attractor Complexity Index (ACI) and Local Dynamic Stability (LDS) — to a freely accessible language, enabling international researchers to assess fall risk in older adults from triaxial lower-back accelerometer data. Developed at HE-Arc Santé (Neuchâtel, Switzerland) under the HES-SO Open Research Data 2025 programme, RACING follows FAIR principles and provides fully documented, reproducible scripts validated against the ACIER study dataset.
