Evaluating and Bias-Correcting GPM IMERG V07 Precipitation over AlHasakah Governorate, Syria
Abstract
This Zenodo record provides the supporting materials for the manuscript: “Evaluating and Bias-Correcting GPM IMERG V07 Precipitation over AlHasakah Governorate, Syria.” Contents Station metadata (station name/ID, latitude, longitude, elevation, and record period) for the gauge network used in the study (AlHasakah Governorate, Syria, plus two adjacent Turkish stations: Nusaybin and Ceylanpınar). Processed outputs and statistics reported in the paper (e.g., MBE, PBIAS, MAE, RMSE, Pearson’s r, R², NSE, KGE, and Taylor Skill Score), including final summary tables. Python scripts (.py) to reproduce the station–IMERG pairing, monthly aggregation, evaluation metrics, bias-correction methods (linear scaling, power-law scaling, empirical quantile mapping, and ANN), and figure generation. Figure/map outputs used in the manuscript (raw IMERG and corrected fields and difference maps on the native IMERG grid, where applicable). Data availability note (gauge data restriction) The raw in-situ gauge precipitation time series used in this study cannot be publicly shared due to data-provider restrictions and permission requirements. Interested researchers may request access to the gauge data from the relevant data-providing authorities, subject to their approval. Satellite data source IMERG V07 monthly precipitation is publicly available via Google Earth Engine (collection NASA/GPM_L3/IMERG_MONTHLY_V07). The included Python scripts document the workflow used to access and process IMERG data consistently with the manuscript. Reproducibility A README file in the ZIP archive describes the folder structure and the steps required to reproduce the main tables and figures using the included scripts and publicly available IMERG data. Keywords: GPM IMERG V07; satellite precipitation; bias correction; quantile mapping; ANN; Syria; AlHasakah; hydrology; drought monitoring.
