Abstract

This dataset contains the 3D reconstructed models supporting the study "Evaluating Photo vs Video Methods for Photogrammetric Reconstruction of Marine Habitats". The models were generated using Agisoft Metashape and 3DF Zephyr from a 1,000-image SCUBA-derived dataset of an Indo-Pacific coral reef (Operation Wallacea Hoga Island Marine Station, Indonesia). The collection is organised into 10 replicates, each representing a ~5 × 10 m reef area. To facilitate a systematic evaluation of SfM accuracy and subsequent rugosity measurements, each replicate is provided across four experimental treatments (plus an ablation study treatment): A) High-resolution (12.2-megapixel) camera stills (control) B) Influence of EXIF metadata absence C) Video-extracted frames D) Combined influence of resolution and metadata E) Identical input data comparison File Structure: Each folder contains - OBJ File: The geometric mesh data (vertices and polygons) MTL File: Material Template Library defining texture mapping and visual properties
