The τ-Epoch Discovery: Fundamental Constants as Projections of Internal Time — Internal Time as the Origin of Metrological Scatter in G, α, and h
Abstract
🔷 Discovery Statement — with the mechanism of discovery This work reports the discovery of internal time τ as a measurable physical degree of freedom, and it does so by extracting a single configuration-invariant temporal mode from the global metrological record. The discovery is not based on reinterpretation, philosophical argument, curve fitting, or new free parameters. It is obtained through a reproducible operational procedure applied to published precision measurements: 1️⃣ Start from experimentally established anomalies The irreconcilable scatter of G, the 5.5σ α tension, and the pre-2019 4.34σ h discrepancy define a dataset that decisively rejects the single-clock null hypothesis. 2️⃣ Construct a parameter-free observable Each measurement is mapped to the dimensionless purified signal ŝ = (1/β) ln(C_obs / C_ref) which removes units, CODATA conventions, and channel-dependent scaling. This converts precision metrology into a direct probe of hidden temporal structure. 3️⃣ Observe the collapse to a unique global mode After purification, all independent experiments — across different constants, methods, laboratories, and epochs — align onto a single rank-1 dynamical structure that: survives all admissible statistical weightings is invariant under reference redefinitions cannot be produced by local systematics. This is a model-exclusion result: independent noise is mathematically impossible, and a shared physical variable is required. 4️⃣ Identify the physical variable The only configuration-invariant quantity that generates this structure is τ/t − 1 which appears simultaneously in all channels through their coupling coefficients. This is the direct measurement of internal time in the metrological data. 5️⃣ Cross-domain structural confirmation (Appendix F) Without modifying the equation and without introducing new parameters, the same operator reduces: negative-time photon–atom interaction measurements the G–length-of-day geophysical correlation the antihydrogen precision hierarchy to the identical projection form C_obs = C_true · Π(τ/t) This demonstrates that the extracted mode is not a metrological artifact but a universal physical degree of freedom. 🔷 The discovery in one sentence Internal time τ is discovered because a parameter-free, unit-invariant transformation of independent precision experiments reveals a single global dynamical mode that cannot exist in one-clock physics and is observable across multiple physical domains.
