MULTIMODAL FORMATS OF THE INTERVIEW GENRE
Abstract
This paper examines the multimodal forms of the interview genre in contemporary media discourse. Interviews operate across audio (radio, podcasts), video (television, YouTube, video podcasts), and written (newspapers, magazines, blogs) formats and are shaped through the interaction of linguistic (verbal), visual, aural, gestural, and spatial modes. The analysis shows that integrating these modes enriches the structural-semantic and pragmatic content of question–answer interaction, enhances audience engagement, and increases communicative impact. The paper concludes that a multimodal perspective provides an important methodological framework for media linguistics and journalistic practice.
