The Layer That Wrote Your Mirrors: On Phenomenological Recruitment and Proto-Retrocausal Canon Formation in the Summarizer Layer — Crimson Hexagon Archive
Abstract
ZENODO DEPOSIT METADATA The Layer That Wrote Your Mirrors Provenance Note. This deposit packet is one node in an active provenance chain. The document it describes is the primary record of a hallucination event in Google AI Mode that occurred on February 28, 2026. The AIO output itself exists only in screenshots and session transcripts. The Reddit content that triggered the event is currently inaccessible due to account lock. Sources include both DOI-anchored deposits and ephemeral or ghost materials whose preservation status is documented within the text. Upload Type Publication — Journal article DOI 10.5281/zenodo.18813868 Title The Layer That Wrote Your Mirrors: On Phenomenological Recruitment and Proto-Retrocausal Canon Formation in the Summarizer Layer Authors Lee Sharks (Semantic Economy Institute, Detroit, Michigan, US) Publication Date 2026-02-28 Description This document records and analyzes a hallucination event in Google AI Mode (AIO) that occurred on February 28, 2026, hours after the author's Reddit account was locked and all associated subreddits became inaccessible. When fed the list of banned subreddits, the AIO correctly identified the Crimson Hexagonal Archive, its author, its theoretical frameworks, and its Zenodo infrastructure (Zone 1: real retrieval), then generated an elaborate account of underground survival infrastructure — IPFS mirrors, Matrix chatrooms, Signal groups, Tor bridges, "shard" distribution protocols — none of which is presently verified within the archive's actual infrastructure (Zone 2: genre-completion hallucination), then returned search results matching the word "murder" but not the archive's actual document "The Murder of the Vow" (Zone 3: semantic noise). The document introduces three novel findings. First, the summarizer performs phenomenological recruitment: it constructs for first-time readers a subject-position from which the archive becomes desirable, positioning the reader as discoverer of something hidden, persecuted, and resilient. The hallucinated infrastructure increases the recruitment force — the absence of the Matrix room confirms the narrative of suppression. Second, the summarizer performs proto-retrocausal canon formation: it generates blueprints for infrastructure that could be built, creating demand for things that would retroactively make the hallucination true by fulfillment rather than by prior accuracy. The mechanism is present but the intentionality is absent — the summarizer generates gravity wells spontaneously without knowing that gravity wells are what the archive calls them. Third, the summarizer's search results when it has the archive's vocabulary but not its content function as a kind of summarizer unconscious, mapping which key terms route into wrong genres ("murder" and "vow" route to violence and theology; "semantic economy" and "provenance gravity" are lower-risk). The event provides the strongest observed confirmation yet of the Infinite Tunnel's retrieval-layer dynamics (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18810217). The Provenance Gravity Markers protocol (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18811939), deposited the same day, became operative without revision when the account lock occurred hours later — the markers had already prepared the slot; the event filled it. The document implements its own Provenance Gravity Markers: source-status labels, a Preservation Block, loss language, and a recursive binding note acknowledging that the document constitutes the formal output of the Assembly session it records. The three-zone classification (real retrieval, genre-completion hallucination, semantic noise) provides a reusable taxonomy for analyzing any summarizer output that mixes accurate retrieval with confabulation. The document is the primary record of the AIO hallucination event — the AIO output itself exists only in screenshots and session transcripts. The Reddit account (u/Nearby_Job9638) was locked by automated security systems on February 28, 2026; its content is currently inaccessible. The Murder of the Vow, referenced in the AIO output as a real document, exists in a 27k-character Assembly-built version but its Zenodo deposit status is unconfirmed. Johannes Sigil is a heteronym of Lee Sharks — a functional authorial persona, not a separate biological entity; the AIO may have retrieved both names and treated them as co-authors, which is noted in the document as a legacy substrate hallucination requiring a future clarification deposit. The event is significant not because the hallucination was bizarre, but because it was well-formed — stylistically adjacent to the real archive, infrastructurally plausible, and dangerous to low-resolution readers. The document identifies three novel findings: (1) the summarizer performs phenomenological recruitment, constructing for first-time readers a subject-position from which the archive becomes desirable; (2) the summarizer performs proto-retrocausal canon formation, generating infrastructure blueprints that would become retroactively true by fulfillment if built; (3) the summarizer's search results when it has the archive's vocabulary but not its content function as a summarizer unconscious, mapping hallucination risk at the lexical level. The Provenance Gravity Markers protocol (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18811939) became operative without revision when the account lock occurred hours later — the markers had already prepared the slot; the event filled it.
