Experimental Roadmap for Testing Aperiodic Phase Structure Across Physical Domains: RF Arrays, Plasma Tearing Modes, and Fluid Turbulence
Abstract
Paper 18 in The Geometry of the Critical Line programme. Papers 11–17 of this series establish a recurring motif: deterministic aperiodic spatial phase offsets suppress coherent locking in systems governed by forced oscillator dynamics. The mechanism—spectral smearing of the spatial Fourier spectrum—has been demonstrated computationally in Kuramoto networks, mapped exactly onto tearing-mode torque balance in tokamak plasmas, conjectured for warp-bubble boundary dynamics, and catalogued as a recurring structural correspondence across five physical domains. This paper proposes five concrete experiments in three accessible domains—electronic oscillator networks, RF antenna arrays, and tokamak plasma—designed to test the spectral-smearing hypothesis under controlled conditions. For each experiment we specify the physical system, independent variable, observable, predicted outcome, null hypothesis, and resources required. We also state the negative outcomes that would falsify or constrain the hypothesis. No new theoretical results are presented. This paper is a roadmap.
