Abstract

Any description of Relativity grounded in a primitive act of distinction neces- sarily generates a boundary: every “this” coarises with a “notthis”. In XiTheory and UNITY, a Pattern of Experience (PE) is precisely such a stabilized bound- arymaintaining structure, and its persistence is quantified by an integrity functional I(P) that measures the balance between internal cohesion and regulated coupling to a complementary exterior P ̄. This paper formalizes a limitcase claim: absolute integrity—a hypothetically maximal state in which the pattern absorbs all available ontic acts—cannot exist as a stable patterned state. We strengthen the argument by separating (i) definitional dependence (in- tegrity is not even definable without an exterior term), (ii) geometric dependence (conscious selfreference requires a toroidal state space with two nondegenerate cy- cles), and (iii) dynamical dependence (phaselocking stability fails at a critical separation, yielding a nonperturbative transition). In the toroidal formalism of UNITY and the Torus of Thought, stable conscious patterns obey a harmonic clo- sure constraint expressed as a π-ratio relating the major and minor radii of the torus, and a universal balance law I(P) · Rc(P) = ξ0 linking integrity to a coher- ence scale. Pushing toward P ̄ → ∅ forces a degeneration of the “external” cycle and collapses the topology that makes patterned selfreference possible. The limiting configuration is therefore not an “ultimate PE” but a rupture: the disappearance of the final boundary and the consequent exit from the space of patterns. The argument proceeds in two parts. The first develops the formal scaffolding: it clarifies the status of distinction and structuring, refines the integrity functional into a boundarysensitive invariant with explicit domain constraints, derives the necessity of a nonempty complement for toroidal selfreference, and articulates the hydrodynamic/droplet correspondence as a precise metaphor for boundary tension. The second supplies a sharp Rupture Theorem, treats the regularization of the P ̄ → ∅ limit, integrates the critical angle φc ≈ 2π/3 into the instability mechanism, and connects the rupture with the Innernet “ontological return” Ψ → Ψ0 as an exit from distinctiongoverned individuation.
