Awareness as Bandwidth‑Limited Feedback Integration
Abstract
Superseded paper notice This paper is retained as a provenance record documenting an earlier stage in the development of the Phase Compatibility programme’s Awareness Theory branch. Its feedback-integration and bandwidth concepts have been substantially revised and incorporated into the current governing paper: Awareness as Relational Phase Resolution: Bandwidth, Salience Filtering, and Observer-Accessible Relational StructureDOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21789037 The governing paper replaces the earlier emphasis on awareness as increased update speed or bandwidth with a task-indexed account of operational relational awareness. Awareness is now defined as the selective integration of accessible relational phase structure within a present observer-resolved state. The revised framework distinguishes physical accessibility, distinguishability, selection, integration, registration rate, phase rate, salience weighting, resolved relational content, validated coverage, relational precision, and experiment-specific density. It also introduces explicit falsifiability conditions and a preregisterable testing programme. This record should therefore be read as historical conceptual provenance rather than as the current governing formulation.
