Paper 112 EQ Is Not Personality — Why It Is Difficult to Measure and Imitate —
Abstract
This paper proposes a structural reinterpretation of Emotional Quotient (EQ), shifting the focus from personality traits to cognitive architecture. Conventional EQ models emphasize behavioral tendencies, empathy, and emotional intensity. In contrast, this study conceptualizes EQ as an internal structural configuration defined by response order and translation speed across cognitive layers. It explains why high-EQ structures are difficult to measure or imitate, arguing that processing is completed prior to external expression. This paper does not oppose existing EQ theories; rather, it separates conceptual axes in order to reduce interpretive friction.
