UPCYCLING SACHET WATER PLASTIC WASTE AS SUSTAINABLE LEATHER ALTERNATIVES IN NIGERIA
Abstract
This research investigates the upcycling of sachet water plastic waste into sustainable leather-like materials as an alternative to conventional leather. The study proposes a conceptual framework for collecting, processing, and transforming discarded plastics into durable composite materials suitable for fashion and functional applications. It highlights environmental benefits, waste reduction, and circular economy opportunities within the Nigerian context.
