The Immune Void: Self/Non-Self Discrimination as Void Framework Instantiation — Autoimmune Disease as D3 Cascade When the Void Turns Inward
Abstract
The immune system satisfies all three void conditions: O=3 (MHC recognition opaque to conscious access), R=3 (clonal expansion amplifies minute signals 10⁶-fold), and α = self/non-self discrimination capacity — the framework's core boundary problem instantiated in biology. Pe_immune = 9/α, where α is measured via Treg/Teff ratio. Autoimmune disease is the D1→D2→D3 cascade when the void turns inward: D1 (agency misattribution to self-tissue), D2 (self/non-self boundary erosion), D3 (tissue destruction). FOXP3 null → IPEX syndrome is the biological kill condition — total loss of the ritual constraint. Spearman ρ between Pe_immune and disease severity across 10 autoimmune conditions is the empirical test.
