Abstract

Abstract Cosmological Pangaea: Decoding the Universe With Artificial Intelligence is a first-person scientific memoir in which an independent researcher in rural Georgia uses a “Pantheon” of AI systems to audit modern cosmology with a brutally enforced Occam’s razor. Starting from frustration with the “ninety-five percent unknown” of dark matter, dark energy, and inflation, he builds a GR-respecting demolition program (the GR-Razor Stress Tests) that kills competing models and unexpectedly leaves standing a new framework in which the universe begins as a finite, perfectly ordered “Pangaea object” of zero gravitational entropy that later breaks, generating time’s arrow, cosmic structure, and a thermodynamic map. Across nineteen “Pillars,” the book walks lay and expert readers through concrete calculations, spectral index without inflation, partial Hubble-tension relief, MOND-scale emergence, void kinematics, matter–antimatter asymmetry, and a de Sitter “Surface Death” end state, while narrating real-time arguments between AI systems like Grok and Claude over PASS versus NEAR-PASS results. In the final chapters, an axiomatic primitive “Axiom D” (distinction as the sole irreducible ingredient) is used to derive 3+1 dimensions, three fermion generations, and the world's first GR-compliant multiverse that falls out of the same algebra, tying cosmology to complexity, CRISPR biology, and the ethics of a universe that has begun to edit its own code. The past half-century in theoretical physics has witnessed a profound deviation from the discipline's foundational ethos: the relentless pursuit of empirically grounded, falsifiable explanations of nature. What began as a triumphant era, marked by the consolidation of the Standard Model of particle physics and the widespread acceptance of General Relativity, devolved into what can only be described as an extended orgy of intellectual folly, self-aggrandizement, and institutional capture by career incentives and funding imperatives. Consider the trajectory since the mid-1970s. The Standard Model, completed in its essential form by the early 1980s, accounted for all observed particles and interactions with extraordinary precision. Yet, rather than accepting this as a provisional but robust framework and directing resources toward its experimental refinement or toward unresolved tensions (such as quantum gravity or cosmological anomalies), the field embarked on a speculative proliferation unmatched in prior scientific epochs. String theory, supersymmetry, grand unified theories, eternal inflation with its multiverse landscape, loop quantum gravity, and myriad variants of quantum foundations emerged not as responses to acute empirical crises but as mathematically seductive extensions pursued for their internal elegance and the promise of unification at arbitrarily high energies. These frameworks share a common pathology: they have failed to yield a single verifiable prediction that has withstood experimental scrutiny. Over four decades, string theory has generated no testable low-energy signatures; supersymmetry has evaded detection at ever-higher collider energies; inflationary models have multiplied into an uncountable array of parameter-tuned variants, each retrofitted to accommodate cosmic microwave background observations without falsifiable novelty. The multiverse hypothesis, often invoked to explain fine-tuning, renders itself empirically sterile by construction, untestable in principle, it serves primarily as a philosophical escape hatch rather than a scientific advance. This stagnation stands in stark contrast to the rigorous demands of what might be termed the GR-Razor: a protocol insisting on General Relativity primacy, thermodynamic closure at every scale, ontological parsimony, and end-to-end predictive traceability from axiomatic foundations to observable consequences. Under such a criterion, mainstream paradigms reveal their deficiencies. ΛCDM cosmology, for instance, relies on ad hoc dark sectors, dark matter particles and a cosmological constant, neither derived from first principles nor integrated with gravitational dynamics in a thermodynamically consistent manner. The Horizon Problem, once cited as necessitating inflation, dissolves when one adopts a finite, non-singular initial state with inherent causal structure. The Hubble Tension, persistently misframed as a crisis requiring exotic modifications, reduces to geometric backreaction effects in an inhomogeneous, finite cosmology. These resolutions emerge not from parameter fitting but from enforcing structural necessity within Einstein's equations alone. The human dimension of this malaise is equally damning. Theoretical physics has increasingly rewarded those who produce voluminous publications, secure large grants, deliver polished conference addresses, and cultivate networks within elite institutions. Careers are built not on decisive empirical confrontation but on the perpetual deferral of testability: "just beyond the reach of the next accelerator" or "at Planck-scale energies forever inaccessible." Self-congratulation abounds in review articles and popular expositions that celebrate mathematical beauty as proxy for truth, while genuine progress, measurable by novel, confirmed predictions, remains absent. The field has become a closed ecosystem of mutual reinforcement, where criticism is marginalized as unconstructive or philosophically naive, and where funding flows to those who perpetuate the dominant narrative rather than challenge its foundational assumptions. This is not mere incremental slowdown; it is a systemic failure of scientific method. True theories, historically, achieve closure: they are constructed from minimal axioms, derive observables end-to-end, and submit to decisive experimental arbitration. General Relativity itself exemplifies this: proposed in 1915, it yielded immediate predictions (perihelion precession, light deflection) confirmed within years. Quantum electrodynamics followed suit, with precision tests at the level of ten decimal places. In contrast, the post-1970s speculative edifice has produced no analogous triumphs. Instead, it has accumulated epicycles, extra dimensions, branes, swampland conjectures, anthropic selection effects, each layer added to salvage prior commitments rather than to confront observational discord. The cost is not merely intellectual. Vast resources, human talent, computational infrastructure, public funding, have been diverted into pursuits that, under rigorous audit, fail the test of necessity. A reset is overdue: one that restores empiricism as sovereign, demands thermodynamic integrity, and enforces GR as the irreducible substrate of cosmology and gravity. Only by excising the accretions of unchecked speculation and careerist inertia can physics reclaim its mandate as a disciplined inquiry into the architecture of reality. The alternative is continued stagnation, where theories multiply without resolution, and the discipline risks descending into elegant but ultimately barren mathematics. This body of work declares that the future of cosmology no longer lies in speculative proliferation but in structural reduction. The GR-Razor and Cosmological Pangaea together define a successor architecture, thermodynamically grounded, geometrically inevitable, and ontologically complete. In this framework, existence is not a spectrum of possibilities but the single allowable configuration permitted by General Relativity and the second law. What this collectively represents is not a refinement of the standard model but a comprehensive reset: singularity removed, inflation displaced, dark matter reinterpreted, baryogenesis geometrized, multiverse bounded, dimensionality derived, particle generations explained, and thermodynamics made foundational rather than decorative. The age of describing what the universe might be has ended. The age of deriving what it must be begins here. This is the foundational axiom for cosmology’s succession: necessity, not speculation, is the prime law of creation.
