Saggio di tesi breve sul tragico abitabile: l'animazione come nuovo spazio del tragico contemporaneo | Short Thesis Essay on Habitable Tragedy: Animation as a New Space of Contemporary Tragedy
Abstract
Attraverso l’analisi di serie come Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Amazing World of Gumball e Bing, il lavoro mostra come estetiche infantili, ironia, musica e oggetti simbolici operino come dispositivi di mediazione del tragico. English This essay explores the concept of habitable tragedy, understood as a theoretical device developed by the author within the broader research constellation. This concept allows contemporary animated seriality to be read as a space in which pain, trauma, and conflict are neither removed nor merely spectacularized, but transformed into symbolically sustainable experiences. Through the analysis of series such as Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Amazing World of Gumball, and Bing, the work shows how child-centered aesthetics, irony, music, and symbolic objects function as mediating devices of the tragic. From this perspective, contemporary animation does not eliminate tragedy, but reshapes its conditions of accessibility, making it inhabitable within serialized narrative structures.
