PRODUCTIVITY AND ADAPTABILITY OF LATIN ELEMENTS IN CONTEMPORARY ENGLISH NEOLOGISMS
Abstract
Although Latin is traditionally classified as a “dead language,” its morphological elements remain highly productive in contemporary English, particularly in the formation of neologisms. Neologisms emerge in response to rapid technological, cultural, scientific, and political change, requiring linguistic mechanisms capable of generating semantically precise and internationally intelligible terminology.
