A Conceptual Materials Engineering Framework for Multifunctional Mesostructured Inorganic Carriers: Corrected Design Principles of the Vimana System
Abstract
Persistent challenges in drug stability, aqueous solubility, and pharmacokinetic variability necessitate structurally robust inorganic matrix delivery platforms. This paper defines a conceptual materials engineering framework for the Vimana system, a modular architecture integrating zirconium-modified SBA-15, exfoliated phyllosilicate nanosheets, and functional nanomaterials. By leveraging confinement-limited nucleation to maintain poorly bioavailable compounds in an amorphous or semi-amorphous state within mesoporous domains, the framework outlines design constraints for enhanced solid-state stabilization. Engineering parameters relevant to controlled release behavior, structural modularity, and theoretical external-field responsiveness are discussed at the level of materials architecture. The objective of this study is to define structural and thermodynamic design principles rather than report a validated therapeutic formulation.
