Abstract

Fresh fighting along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border has escalated into what officials call an “open war,” following airstrikes, cross-border shelling, and disputed casualty claims. While both sides blame each other for provoking the crisis, independent reports confirm civilian deaths and growing displacement, prompting urgent international calls for de-escalation.
