The Geometry of Resilience
Abstract
Background: System stability is often misunderstood as a function of complete saturation (100%). This leads to a neglect of the resilience factors inherent in the system. Objective: This study identifies the gemini constant ϕG≈0.57 as the universal threshold value for the transition from stochastic noise to structural integrity. Method: The isostatic point of a cluster is mathematically derived using topological analysis of hexagonal packing logic (k=7) and the application of rigidity theory. Results: It is demonstrated that functional “lock-in” already occurs at a saturation of ≈57.14%. A residue of 43% is identified as a constitutive degree of freedom for systemic adaptivity. Conclusion: The results establish a new ethic of homeostasis that defines the tension between structural necessity (57%) and dynamic leeway (43%) as the basis for sustainable systems in technology and society.
