Stratospheric Perturbation Lifetimes This repository provides a compact workflow to estimate stratospheric perturbation lifetimes of water vapour and derive a model speed-up factor for high-altitude aircraft emission studies. The method leverages that emissions can be scaled with factor s in the first year of simulations and then reset to baseline in later years, while preserving the intended perturbation response in model simulation results. The repository outlines how these factors can be calculated depending on altitude. The actual scaling has to be done manually in numerical model simulation runs.
