Exact Topology and Dissipative Dynamics of the 3x+1 Problem
Abstract
The Collatz ( 3x+1 ) problem has traditionally been modeled as a stochastic process on scalar numbers. This monograph presents a paradigm shift, demonstrating that the dynamics obey a strictly deterministic geometric architecture. The research is structured into three pillars: I. Statics, where the numerical space is mapped using Equi-value Classes, Even Co-division Fibers, and Reduction Classes; II. Kinematics, introducing the Bicanonical Sieve} and 2-adic Valuation to prove the inevitable rupture of any expansive streak, refuting divergence to infinity via a net contractive Drift Pressure; and III. Thermodynamics, defining the Local Logarithmic Potential to measure the dissipation of structural energy. Through a Taylor asymptotic expansion over the Diophantine Gap, it is demonstrated that the thermodynamic friction of the system is insufficient to close an isolated cycle. By analytically vetoing both divergence and non-trivial loops, universal convergence towards the root singularity is rigorously proven.
