Supporting code for "The influence of impact-energy dependent erosional efficiency on bedrock river sediment dynamics and the effective flood "
Abstract
This code repository accompanies "The influence of impact-energy dependent erosional efficiency on bedrock river sediment dynamics and the effective flood" by C.C. Masteller, in revision at Journal of Geophysical Research - Earth Surface. This repository code was written to complete analysis outlined in Masteller (in revision). It has been modified from its original form to improve readability and ease of implementation for general users. You may need to modify the code for your specific applications. You are responsible for inspecting the code and making adjustments as necessary. The repository contains two .m files, executable in MATLAB and two .mat files containing input data. 1. SAM_variableKV_constantQ_at_a_station.m - Computes instaneous bedrock erosion rates calculated using the saltation-abrasion model for constant and impact-energy-dependent formulations of rock resistance across a specific range of grain size and transport capacity combinations. 2. SAM_variableKV_variableQ_at_a_station.m - Computes instaneous bedrock erosion rates calculated using the saltation-abrasion model for constant and impact-energy-dependent formulations of rock resistance across a specific range of grain sizes for a specified discharge distribution using an input file. 3. SFEel_meanDailyQ.mat - Original mean daily discharge values for from the South Fork Eel River (USGS gage 11475500, near Branscomb), reflecting the data used in Sklar and Dietrich, 2006 4. eelQFit.mat - Resampled and interpolated input data to smooth noise and increase point density in the distribution tails where observations are sparse. Data are in m3/s.
