DIFFERENCES AND SIMILARITIES OF THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN EUROPEAN AND ASIAN SOCIETIES IN THE 20TH CENTURY
Abstract
This study investigates the role of women in European and Asian societies during the 20th century. At the beginning of the century, women in both regions had limited rights and were mostly responsible for household duties. However, because of wars, economic development, and educational reforms, it was gradually changed. Although both regions experienced progress, European women generally achieved gender equality faster than women in many Asian countries.
