Beyond the Boundaries of Photosynthesis. Oxygen Geogenesis as a Primordial Energetic Condition for Biogenesis
Abstract
This paper introduces the Autonomous Electrochemical Reactor (AER) Model, which shifts the genesis of oxygen from the biological domain to the geophysical one. The author argues that molecular oxygen is a primordial planetary foundation, continuously refined from silicate and oxide structures through two coupled processes: - Gravitational mass differentiation, which established a global chemical potential gradient (oxygen in the core and mantle).- Piezoelectric energy conversion, in which quartz under constant gravitational pressure acts as a transformer, generating the voltages necessary for water electrolysis and oxide refining. The work integrates dispersed data from silicate mechanochemistry, core geophysics, and extreme biology. The AER model redefines the concept of the "habitable zone" in astrobiology and sheds new light on the history of Earth's oxygenation, indicating that the planet is an autonomous electrochemical system in which biology serves merely as an optimization of processes initiated by gravity and minerals.
