Heat Stress Reshapes Prokaryotic Community Structure of Newly Settled Juvenile Acropora digitifera
Abstract
# README — 16S rRNA Gene Sequencing Dataset ## OverviewThis dataset contains paired-end FASTQ files generated by high-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA genes. The data were produced from a controlled rearing experiment designed to evaluate the effects of heat stress on prokaryotic communities associated with newly settled juvenile Acropora digitifera.Juvenile corals were exposed to either heat‑stress (HS) or control (cont) conditions, and their associated prokaryotic microbiomes were compared alongside samples of rearing seawater. All files are compressed into a ZIP archive and can be used after extraction. ## Dataset Structure### Sample CategoriesThe dataset is divided into three primary sample types:- HS — Heat‑stressed juvenile corals- cont — Control juvenile corals- Seawater — Rearing seawater samples ### Additional Notes- Day1 seawater represents seawater collected before its use in the rearing system and serves as a baseline reference.- Samples labeled “single” or “10polyp” represent prokaryotic communities from individual juvenile polyps or 10 pooled polyps, respectively.- All other samples correspond to seawater. ## File Format- Paired-end FASTQ sequencing files- Files are compressed in: ``` raw_data.zip ```- Extract the ZIP archive to obtain the FASTQ files. ## ContactFor questions about the dataset or its usage, please contact the dataset creator.
