The_Seven_Day_Cycle
Abstract
This paper examines the symmetry between the beginning and end of biological lifethrough the lens of measurability, consciousness, and morality. At fertilisation, a zincspark—a literal flash of light—marks the onset of biological life, occurring within aseven-day window from intercourse to DNA fusion. At death, a gamma wave surge ofextraordinary intensity has been measured in the dying brain, exceeding normal wakingconsciousness. Between these two sparks lies a period of fundamentalunmeasurability: fertilisation itself is undetectable by current medical tests, with30–50% of fertilised eggs lost naturally without awareness. Drawing on the Type1/Type 2 consciousness framework, this paper explores when ‘conscious life’ begins, how the Default Mode Network (DMN) transforms pure phenomenal awareness intonarrative self-construction, and how dementia reverses this process. The seven-daycycle connecting fertilisation biology to ancient creation narratives raises questionsabout whether pre-scientific wisdom traditions encoded observational truths accessiblethrough direct (Type 1) perception.
