Abstract

Abstract Digital literacy is increasingly recognized as a catalyst for financial inclusion, especially in rural India. This study investigates how digital literacy levels influence four key parameters of financial inclusion – income changes, usage of banking services, and gender-wise access – using a mixed-methods approach and Power BI-driven data analysis. We collected survey data from rural households and integrated secondary datasets from government sources to evaluate digital literacy rates, banking usage, and socio-economic outcomes. Statistical analysis and visualizations reveal that higher digital literacy is associated with greater adoption of banking services and improved incomes in rural areas[1][2]. However, significant disparities persist: rural digital literacy remains low and unevenly distributed, with women lagging behind men in access to digital tools[3][4]. The results underscore the need for targeted digital education initiatives and gender-sensitive strategies to ensure that gains in financial inclusion are broadly shared. We conclude with recommendations for policymakers to leverage digital literacy programs as a means to bridge the financial inclusion gap in rural India.
