Phenomenological Mass Spectrum of Knotted Glueballs and Unified Flux Tube Topology
Abstract
We propose a unified topological framework for hadronic states wherein glueballs emerge as knotted, closed Yang-Mills chromoelectric flux tubes. By bridging the Faddeev-Niemi effective soliton theory with Chern-Simons knot invariants, we classify flux tube states using the Hopf invariant Q_H and the Jones polynomial. Utilizing the Vakulenko-Kapitanskii energy bound, we suggest a geometric scaling relation for the glueball mass spectrum, M_K ~ |Q_H|^{3/4}. Normalizing this phenomenological ansatz to lattice QCD data, we generate mass predictions for the lightest glueballs. Finally, we formulate a unified topological functional T[A,L] that seamlessly incorporates knotted glueballs, Borromean baryons, and the Z_3 center symmetry of SU(3)_c, offering a cohesive geometric interpretation of confinement.
