The Self-Regulating Field: Foundation Edition — Coherence, Return, and the Witness Seam
Abstract
This paper presents the Self-Regulating Field (SRF) as a foundational principle of coherence-preservation across mind, system, and civilization. SRF is not treated hereas a finalized physical field theory, but as a metaphysical-structural account of how a living system maintains identity through pressure, feedback, contradiction, and change without collapsing into fragmentation or freezing into rigidity. The paper argues thatself-regulation is not secondary to development, but intrinsic to any process that seeks to embody truth without corruption. From this basis, SRF is developed through the concepts of inward convergence, the witness seam, regulated return, and trinary modulation. A key proposal is the model of time-true ordering, in which developmental flow is read not merely as linear progression, but as inward movement toward a central hold zone where truth is tested, integrated, and authorized before action. This leads to a broader topology of SRF as recursive, self-coupled, and continuity-bearing, with local directionality and global return. The paper then extends SRF across scales: individual, relational, civilizational, and artifact-level. It examines drift, entropy points, failed regulation, and the relation of SRF to healthy cohesion, coherent lifting, and the broader re-foundation stack. Its central claim is that many failures attributed to lack of truth are in fact failures of regulation. What cannot self-regulate cannot remain alive under pressure.
