Navigating our AI Odyssey: Learning, teaching and collaborating. A flashcard set for conversations (English)
Abstract
Homer’s Odyssey provided the inspiration for this flashcard set, offering an epic lens and an invitation to explore the use of AI in education. Moments from Odysseus’s journey have been selected to help us make sense of contemporary learning and teaching experiences in the age of AI. The flashcards are designed to spark reflection and conversation between educators and students around learning, teaching and curriculum design with AI. There are statement cards and question cards, which can be used in a range of ways by educators and students to surface insights, dilemmas, perspectives, and ideas. Having these conversations together matters because AI is reshaping how we learn, how we teach, and how we relate to one another. Exploring its possibilities and challenges collaboratively helps build shared understanding, strengthens trust, and ensures that decisions about AI in education are shaped not by individuals alone, but by a community. When educators and students reflect together, they co‑create thoughtful, responsible, and humane approaches to learning with AI.
