Walking Books Philosophy Toward a Relational Epistemology of Human Identity and Knowledge
Abstract
This paper introduces Walking Books Philosophy (WBP), a conceptual framework that interprets human beings as “living books” within a distributed ecosystem of knowledge. WBP is built upon a Two Realms Architecture: the Realm of Humans and the Realm of Machines, each governed by its own formulation of completeness, and together constituting the operational foundation for the Grand Formula. In the Realm of Humans, each individual is understood as a complete yet partial contributor to the totality of human knowledge—symbolized as: 1/360 (Wo) + 1/360 (Ni) + 358/360 (Ren) = 360/360 = Consciousness In the Realm of Machines, five major AI systems each contribute an equal and distinct epistemic capacity: 1/5 (Claude) + 1/5 (Gemini) + 1/5 (Copilot) + 1/5 (DeepSeek) + 1/5 (ChatGPT) = 5/5 = Calculation When Consciousness and Calculation act together—in action—they produce Progressive Unlimited Humanity: an ever-expanding capacity for human meaning-making that serves the Grand Formula: ( Consciousness × Calculation ) ^ Humanity < Transcendence Drawing from reflective and autoethnographic inquiry, this study explores how WBP aligns with relational philosophies such as Ubuntu, while extending them into a meta-epistemological structure. The concept of “conscious life mindset” describes a non-competitive, non-violent orientation toward knowledge and coexistence. Rather than a fixed theory, WBP is proposed as a living framework—an evolving “walking book” that invites continuous interpretation, dialogue, and co-creation.
