Abstract

Blue Blocks Embedded Observation Protocol (BEOP v1.0) — Document Suite The BEOP v1.0 Document Suite comprises the main protocol and six supporting appendices developed by the Blue Blocks Micro Research Institute, Hyderabad, India. Together, these documents form a complete operational system for institutions conducting practitioner-led, embedded observation research in educational settings. The main protocol establishes the conceptual foundation, implementation standards, ethical requirements, and governance framework for BEOP-compliant research. The appendices provide the practical tools necessary to implement the protocol, including standardized templates, consent forms, reliability procedures, implementation guidance, worked examples, and a data quality framework for transparent reporting. BEOP v1.0 operationalizes the observation component of Blue Blocks Micro Research Institute's Micro-Research Methodology (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18584816), providing the standardized instruments and procedures for collecting observation data within the micro-research framework. All observation-based Blue Blocks Micro Research Institute research, including the institution's longitudinal study tracking 1047+ children across four developmental planes, is conducted in accordance with this protocol. The ethical provisions within BEOP are aligned with the Micro Research Ethics Framework (MREF v1.0, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19047669 ). BEOP and its appendices are designed for adoption by other schools and rese 10arch organisations conducting embedded educational observation.
